Who we work with
Runners
Most runners we see fall into two camps. Either overtraining injuries (IT band, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, hip flexor tightness) or a gait inefficiency that’s slowly turned into chronic pain. We assess your gait, figure out what’s compensating for what, and give you the adjustments and drills to fix it. Training for the Charlotte Marathon, running Around the Crown 10K, or just trying to hit three miles without your knee flaring up. Dr. Alejandra is a marathon finisher herself, so she gets it.
CrossFit athletes and lifters
Shoulder impingement, low-back pain under load, hips that won’t open no matter how much you foam roll. These are the calls we get from folks training at Burn Boot Camp, CrossFit Pineville, F45, Hustle House, and the box gyms around South Charlotte. We work with your training, not against it. Mid-cycle and don’t want to deload? We’ll build a plan that keeps you moving.
Golfers
A restricted hip rotation or a locked-up thoracic spine costs you distance, and eventually costs you your back. We assess your rotation, mobilize what needs mobilizing, and give you a small set of drills you can do at the range or before your round. Some of our golfing members come from Ballantyne Country Club. Most just want to play into their sixties without pain.
Weekend warriors and general athletes
Pickup basketball. Recreational tennis. The people who just want to pick up their kid without their back seizing. If you use your body and it’s not working right, that’s the start of a conversation worth having.
How we’re different from a regular chiropractor
We’re a licensed chiropractor and a dedicated movement coach working as a team. That combination is unusual in Charlotte.
Every session starts with an assessment. Before Dr. Alejandra touches you, we watch you move: squat, hinge, single-leg, rotation. What’s driving the pain often isn’t where it hurts. The adjustment that follows fits what we find. Dr. Alejandra is certified in five techniques — Applied Kinesiology, Activator, Drop Table, Diversified, and Zone — and picks the one that suits, rather than doing the same crack for every member. If manipulation isn’t the right call, she doesn’t do it.
Then Jake takes over for 30 minutes of movement work. Two or three drills specific to what we found. You leave with something to work on between visits, not just a follow-up on the calendar.
We don’t sell 30-visit packages. We tell you what we think will work and how long. If you’re not improving by session four or five, we say so and either change the plan or refer out.
What to expect on your first visit
It’s actually two visits, because a real assessment takes longer than 20 minutes. The full intake is $97 and covers both days.
Day 1: Assessment (about 45 minutes)
- Full history: what you’re doing, what hurts, what you’ve tried, what you want to get back to
- CLA InSight Nervous System Scans (three scans covering muscle tension, autonomic function, and cardiovascular efficiency)
- Digital posture and squat analysis
- Functional movement assessment
Day 2: Findings + first adjustment (about 45 minutes)
- Video walkthrough of your exam findings, so you see what we see
- Custom care recommendations
- Your first full-spine adjustment with Dr. Alejandra
You leave Day 2 with a clear picture of what’s happening, what we recommend, and what it costs. No pressure to commit to anything on the spot.
How ongoing care works
After the intake, members typically fall into one of two tracks.
Care plan / wellness membership
The most common path for athletes and anyone with recurring issues. Every two weeks you get an integrated visit: chiropractic with Dr. Alejandra plus a movement session with Jake, 45 minutes total. Between visits, we deliver at-home mobility and strength programming through our custom app so the work continues after you leave the studio. Care plan pricing is custom to your findings and reviewed at your Day 2 visit.
Pay-per-visit
For members who want to drop in as needed. Chiropractic visits are $70. Movement sessions are $60. Book either independently.

Cash-based practice. We accept HSA and FSA. Superbills provided if you want to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

Meet Dr. Alejandra
Dr. Alejandra Suarez is the chiropractor at Deeply Rooted. She graduated from Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas, and is certified in Applied Kinesiology, Activator, Drop Table, Diversified, and Zone Technique.
She’s also a marathon finisher, most recently the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. When your chiropractor has done the training, run the miles, and put her own body through the recovery she’s guiding you through, the conversation is different. She’s treating athletes she understands from the inside.
Meet Jake
Jake Coldren is the movement coach at Deeply Rooted. He has a BS in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida and is certified through NASM as a personal trainer, with additional certifications in Advanced Program Design and Biomechanics. Ten years in the strength and conditioning industry, with a background as a soccer player, cross country runner, and tennis player that informs how he thinks about training and recovery.
Every integrated visit ends with 30 minutes of movement work with Jake. Between visits, care plan members get his programming delivered through the practice app.

FAQ
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No. In North Carolina you can see a chiropractor directly without a referral from a physician.
Do you take insurance?
We’re a cash-based practice, which means no insurance games and no surprise bills. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and we provide superbills if you want to submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.
How long until I feel better?
Most members focused on sports and recovery see meaningful change in three to six visits. If you’re not improving by then, we tell you and either change the plan or refer you to someone better suited.
Do you work with youth athletes?
Yes. We treat high school and college athletes regularly. Parents are welcome in the room.
What’s the difference between a sports chiropractor and a regular chiropractor?
Regular chiropractic focuses on adjustments for pain relief. Sports chiropractic adds movement assessment, gait analysis, and rehab drills. The goal is fixing the mechanics driving the pain, not just the pain itself. We take that a step further. Every integrated visit includes a full 30-minute movement session with a dedicated coach.
Are chiropractic adjustments safe?
When performed by a licensed chiropractor with a proper assessment first, yes. Dr. Alejandra assesses before she adjusts every single time. If manipulation isn’t the right call, she doesn’t do it.
Can I keep training while I’m being treated?
Usually yes. This is what we do most days. We work with your training schedule and only tell you to stop when there’s a real medical reason.
How much does a visit cost?
The new member intake is $97 for a two-day exam covering nervous system scans, posture and movement assessment, findings video, custom care recommendations, and your first adjustment. After that, pay-per-visit rates are $70 for chiropractic and $60 for a movement session. Care plan pricing is custom to your findings and reviewed at your Day 2 visit.
Do you offer care plans or memberships?
Yes. Care plan members receive an integrated visit (chiro + movement) every two weeks, plus at-home mobility and strength programming delivered through our practice app. Pricing is custom to your assessment findings.
